Today I’m guest posting over at Sidhe Vicious. It’s a really fun post in which I interview Kendra, the main character of Whirl. Judi has been a gracious and wonderful host – there’s also a giveaway for an ebook copy of Whirl. If you want a chance to win, head on over and leave a comment. I’ll also be stopping by there to answer any questions readers may have. I’ve added her site to the list of giveaways in the sidebar, so you can easily enter and participate in them all.
For the post, Judi had a wonderful idea about including some sort of avatar for Kendra and I had great fun coming up with the following two.

Kendra: The Ninja Version
I’ve been trying to figure out how to balance my time wisely. Since Whirl launched, my schedule has been absolutely insane. I’m a very single-minded person – not really great at multi-tasking. If I’m focused on something, it uses up all my concentration. This works well for me when I am focused on one important project that needs to get done.
The past few days have left me feeling like I’m being split in multiple directions. I have work from my everyday career that I need to deal with, plus trying to launch Whirl and figuring things out (formatting, design, etc.) as I go along. I’m trying to format Whirl for paperback and also get the series site up. I’m dealing with the promo aspect of things by writing guest blogs/interviews, answering tons of email, etc. This is on top of trying to work on Billow, the next book in the series.
I’m the kind of person that needs absolute concentration when I work on something. For example, many writers listen to music when they write. I CANNOT do this. I need total silence. I close my home office door, shut off the phone, and basically retreat into a cave-like mentality in order to get shit done.
I have no problem focusing, but it is difficult for me to shift my focus from one thing (like writing) to other things like design or promo multiple times in a day. That’s where my frazzled irritation is coming from.
Anyway, as I mentioned, I’ve been working on putting together the official Ondine Quartet series site, which I’d like to get done sometime this month. My plan is to have lots of fun, free things there that you can download – wallpapers, avatars, buttons, etc. Also, I’d like to have special content like music playlists, character bios, and backstory and history on the world I created. There will also be a special section for reader submitted artwork.
If there’s anything in particular you’d really like to see on that site, let me know. I’m interested in finding out what extra content readers would enjoy.
Right now, I’m obsessed with the idea of creating chibi versions of Kendra, Tristan, and Julian. I think they would be so adorable and hilarious. So I’ll probably be checking out some artists on deviantART sometime in the next week or so. If you know anyone or can recommend someone who does chibi commissions, please let me know in the comments. Thanks!
